The Veszprém St. Michael's Cathedral is the main church of the Archdiocese of Veszprém. The original church was built during the foundation of the state and is undoubtedly the oldest cathedral in Hungary. It reached its current form in 1910. Located in the castle, specifically on the northern side of Holy Trinity Square, the neo-Romanesque style building with its two towers is visible from many points in the city. The church has been designated as a basilica since 1981.
