County Hall
8200 VESZPRÉM, County Hall Square 1.
The construction of the new county hall today (on the site of the former salt house) fits into Veszprém's uniquely characteristic process of slow urban center migration. A public design competition was announced for the construction of the new building on May 30, 1884, and 14 entries were submitted. In September 1885, a competitive negotiation was held for the execution of the construction works, which was won by Napoleon Kéler, a contractor from Budapest. Construction began in November, with the ground floor being built by early June of the following year. By October, the building was roofed, and on November 24, 1887, the County Hall was inaugurated.
