Ensemble Cello Incanto burst onto the Hungarian classical music scene in 2025. Making its debut at the V’ART Arts Festival in Várpalota, the cello ensemble immediately captured audiences with its dynamic and compelling performances. The group was founded by artistic director András Péter Kárász, who brought together a circle of friends and distinguished cellists from Hungary’s leading orchestras.

Following its successful debut, Ensemble Cello Incanto chose not to limit itself to the traditional cello repertoire. Instead, the ensemble embarked on an ambitious collaboration with twelve contemporary composers, commissioning new works in search of fresh musical voices, new stories, and unexplored sonic landscapes. The first fruits of this creative partnership will receive their premiere at the Auer Festival, where the ensemble presents a unique programme of newly composed works.

Ensemble Cello Incanto is dedicated both to preserving the rich traditions of the cello repertoire and to exploring new musical horizons. Combining artistic curiosity with virtuosity and the joy of collaborative music-making, the ensemble offers audiences a vibrant and distinctive concert experience.

The programme and artists are subject to change.
