The Prometheus Quartet was founded in 2024 by students of the Liszt Academy of Music with the aim of establishing a chamber ensemble through which they could explore the rich string quartet repertoire. Their shared vision includes the insightful interpretation of 20th-century and contemporary works.

The ensemble is committed to challenging the misconception that classical music is irrelevant today or lacks sufficient stimulation for modern audiences. In their performances, they strive to reinterpret works with a fresh perspective, seeking out their vitality and contemporary relevance.

They often draw inspiration from other high forms of art, allowing new perspectives to inform their interpretations and broaden their artistic toolkit.

The members currently pursue their joint studies at the Chamber Music Department of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music.

Programme subject to change.
